Backing up right now?

Sewage in the building is not a next-week problem

Stop putting water into the line. Every load of laundry adds to what is going to come back up. Then call, whatever the hour.

Services

Seven things, done properly

Drain cleaning

Drain cleaning clears a blocked or slow sewer or drain line and gets it running again. The question that matters is how: a cable gets a line open, flushing gets it clean, and the camera shows which one the line needed.

High pressure steam flushing

High pressure steam flushing scours grease, scale and root debris off the inside wall of a sewer or drain line. A cable punches a hole through the blockage. Water at pressure takes it off the wall and carries it away. That difference is the whole reason this truck exists.

Sewer camera inspection

A sewer camera inspection shows the inside of a buried sewer or drain line on video. A camera on a push rod runs the length of the line and shows you what is actually in there. Guessing about a buried pipe is how people end up paying for the wrong repair.

Line and defect locating

Line and defect locating marks on the ground where a buried sewer line runs, how deep it sits, and exactly where the problem is. A sonde in the camera head puts a signal in the pipe, and the locator finds that signal from the surface.

Root cutting

Root cutting clears tree roots that have grown into a sewer line. Roots do not break into a sound pipe. They find a joint or a crack that is already leaking and grow toward the water. Cutting them is the treatment. Finding why they got in is the cure.

Frozen pipe thawing

Frozen pipe thawing gets frozen water lines, sewer lines and buried conduit flowing again. A frozen line is a clock. Water expands as it freezes, and the pipe it is inside does not. Getting it thawed before it splits is a different job from cleaning up after it has.

Preventive sewer maintenance

Preventive sewer maintenance is camera inspection and flushing on a set schedule, so a line is cleaned before it backs up. Every emergency call-out is a maintenance job that was left too long. This is the calm version of the same work, booked at a time that suits the building.

Why the camera comes first

Nobody should pay to dig up a guess

A blocked line has half a dozen possible causes and they do not all cost the same to fix. Roots at a joint, a belly holding water, grease on the wall, an offset joint, a collapse. From the surface they all look identical: a drain that will not drain.

The camera settles it, and the locator puts a mark on the ground over the spot with a depth. That is the difference between a targeted repair and an expensive search.

How a job goes

No surprises in the middle of it

  1. You describe what the line is doingWhich fixtures, how long, and whether it has happened before. That conversation usually narrows it before anyone books a truck.
  2. We find out what is actually wrongCamera down the line, and a locate if the problem needs a position on the ground rather than a description.
  3. We clean it, or we tell you it needs more than cleaningFlushing takes the build-up off the pipe wall. If the pipe itself has failed, flushing it twice will not change that, and you get told so.
  4. You know what to do nextEither the line is good, or it is on a maintenance interval, or there is a defect at a marked spot at a known depth.

What customers actually say

Dan was on site fast when we needed help with a backup at our property. He cleared a blockage and quickly identified the problem. Also gave us a camera scan of our plumbing all the way out to the street. He confirmed things were in good condition and was in and out in about an hour. When you need these services you need them to be fast and good. Dan really helped us that day and I would highly recommends himself and his business to anyone!

I had an emergency at like 9 pm, He came overn in 30 minutes, fixed the problem, showed and explained every detail so next time I can fix it my self (maybe). before calling him I had celled a few of the big name companies, all they did was pass me to one of their local subcontractors, one simply said he was too busy and couldn't even come, and both big companies costed considerably more than A Groess Underground. I definitely have his number written down now

Dan was able to schedule a sewer inspection on short notice to ensure there was no surprises after buying our home. He clearly communicated the costs and quickly delivered the information on his findings.

Sewer and drain questions

Do you come out at night and on weekends?

Yes. Emergency call-outs run 24 hours, seven days, on 250-377-5364. A sewer backup does not wait for Monday and neither does the truck.

What is the difference between steam flushing and running a cable?

A cable bores a hole through the blockage and the line runs again. High pressure flushing takes the build-up off the wall of the pipe and carries it away. If a line has been cabled more than once and keeps blocking, cabling is not solving it.

Are you plumbers?

A Groess Underground are drain cleaning specialists. Steam flushing, camera inspection, line locating and root cutting are the jobs a general plumbing shop refers out, and they are what this truck is built and lettered for.

Can you tell me what is wrong before you dig?

That is the entire point of the camera and the locator. The camera shows the condition of the pipe and the locator marks where the defect sits and how deep. A repair crew that starts with those two things digs once.

Which towns do you cover?

Kamloops, Sun Peaks, Chase, Barriere, Cache Creek, Merritt and the Shuswap, and all points in between.

I am buying a house. Should I have the sewer line looked at?

A standard home inspection does not look at the buried sewer line, and its condition has little to do with the age of the house above it. A camera run during the inspection period is a small cost against the price of a house.
